There are many complaints online about the auto focus problem of Nikon 7000, some people say Nikon D7000 need more than 5 adjustment when shooting with auto focus mode, therefore, there is an urgent update in D7000, and Nikon D8000 is expected.
I remembered more than one month ago, people on the Internet predicted that Nikon will release its named D8000 as a replacement of D90, but now it is Oct 28, 2011, there is still no authoritative news about the exact release date of Nikon D8000.
There are increasing rumors about the release date, specifications and price of Nikon’s latest camcorder Nikon D8000, some say it will be release in September, some say it will be October, and some even say it will be the end of this year. Till now, there is no exact news of the release date.
As to the specifications, there are not too many materials available, the most frequently talked topic is that, Nikon 8000 will be a replacement of D90, will probably have 16MP DX-format sensor (ASP-C) that offers1 080p@24p HD movie capture. And furthermore, it will probably offers a 100-6400 ISO sensitivity range, and probably will go even higher in expanded mode.
And it was said that Nikon D8000 it would be the first real Nikon DSLR outside of the D3x to shoot over 12 megapixels and would have both a sensor between 16 and 18 megapixels as well as 1080p video. There are also rumors that the release of D8000 is for addressing the Auto Focus problem of Nikon 7000 which caused huge amount complaints of users.
So far, I didn’t get further news about Nikon 8000, but I believe, just as the other types of camcorders, Nikon 8000 will also allows for recording high-definition video, and I notice a post that, Nikon 8000 can record full HD 1080p video at 30 frames per second.

1. External microphone can be connected and there’s likely to be USB 3.0 support, which means much better transfer speeds.
2. Some enhancements to the screen, face detection and white balance settings are also expected
3. There should be three memory card slots on the camera – two CompactFlash and one SD card slot.
