Having tried several hours to importing the AVCHD video from JVC GZ-HM650 to iMovie 11, however, failed in the end. It made you terribly frustrated. Wanna find a solution to editing the "tough" AVCHD clips into iMovie'11?

The following part, I would like to introduce a workable solution for making the AVCHD content edit in iMovie 11.

At first, you need to make those AVCHD footages be transcoded. I would like to recommend one conversion program for you: Mac JVC video Converter, which can easily transcode AVCHD to iMovie 11 supported file format and export video without video quality loss.

1. Transfer/Backup AVCHD footages from the JVC GZ-HM650 camcorder to Mac

Tip: Connect the HD camcorder to your Mac. Then Click “Wizard” and all footages will be showed on the Camcorder window. Then click Next button and choose backup to import ACVCHD MTS recordings to Mac.

2. Convert AVCHD video to iMovie 11
Firstly, you need download the AVCHD to iMovie Converter on Mac. Install and run the program. Then follow the coming three steps:
Step 1: Load JVC GZ-HM650 AVCHD videos to the program
Press the “Add File” button, browse the directory to import the .m2ts videos on your mac hard drive.
Step 2: Choose a right format for iMovie 11
Choose the output format like MPEG4 or DV from "iMovie" option in the profile list.
Step 3: Click "START" button to run the conversion from JVC GZ-HM650 AVCHD videos to iMovie 11

3. Transfer the generated .mp4 or .dv file from JVC GZ-HM650 to iMovie 11 for editing.

Note: There are still another program-JVC Video Editor for Mac, which allows you to directly edit AVCHD from the JVC HM650 on Mac OS Snow Leopard, Lion OS.
